Insecure Writers Support Group, August 2015

Ah, Ah, AH--CHOO!

I say raise your Kleenex in the air!

Wave it around like you just don't care!

And if your temperature goes to 101,

Everybody say: Oh-yeah! Cough, cough, cough, hack, hack.

I'se god a code, a bad, bad code. Last night was a bit surreal, waking up through an infinite series of dreams of waking up, turning over, waking up, turning over. Did I actually sleep? Not sure.

The timing of this is not so good. I've only got three days left of premium alone time, and then camp's over for my youngest. I won't have the house to myself until September 10. Yikes. I'll just have to sneak in some writing somewhere because the next short story will be due October 1. The research is mostly done, the outline is there, but I haven't written a single word. Gerble-snitzle.

This fall will be busy. I'll have another sci-fi/fantasy short story collection come out in November, my historical novel will be queued up for query-town, and it'll be time to break ground on a new novel. Finally! How's your fall shaping up?

  1. Damn. I'm a bit envious of that alone time. Right now, I'm just happy to have our little one start school next month and save me the $600 a month in daycare. :)

I'm always cautious of goals (they just seem to drive my procrastination), but I have a novella I want done before the end of the year, and a novel I want edited. That, for me, would be a success.

  2. Sorry you are suffering through a cold right now. Those always make my head fuzzy. Suck up a bunch of orange juice and see what you can write this week.

  3. I'm sorry you're sick and hope you feel better soon! My fall is pretty empty of goals when it comes to publishing. I wish you all the best with your fall goals. :)

  8. Being sick in summer is no fun. I hope you can get a few words written before the weekend.

Congrats on all of your projects.

  9. Virtual cheese headed your way. It's the busy season, eh? I won't have my house to myself for years, so I totally empathize there.

  10. Yikes! Hope you feel better soon. Being sick is no fun, but I think it just feels worse in the summer because you're never expecting it.

Me, I'm finally back to writing. First priority is to finish a book I'm rewriting. Then I get back to hand drafting. Yay!

  15. I hope you feel better soon. Don't sweat it now. You'll work better when you're feeling better.

  16. I hope you're feeling better. Everything seems opposite with me since I'm a teacher. I get a lot done during the summer and considerably less during the school year when I can only write nights and weekends.

I will do everything in my power to visit commenter's blogs unless I've been abducted by aliens or my children get sick. (If my children get abducted by aliens, I will be very busy, of course, catching up on my sleep.)
