Celebrate the Small Things

Ah, the Friday before Halloween. I'm still not done with the kid's costumes, sew I know what I'll be doing this weekend. But first, a celebration with our host, Lexa Cain and her co-hosts: L.G. Keltner and Tonya Drecker.

1. Snow. We woke up Thursday to a quarter-inch. (Sadly the rain that followed pounded it into a memory.)

2. Birthday. Also on Thursday, Dove-a-love-a-ly celebrated her first with catnip, a new tunnel, and a tuna cake.

3. Fellow bloggers! Today I'm presenting an author's guide to Halloween and Day of the Dead over at Chrys Fey's Write With Fey, the last stop on my blog tour for Heart Stopper and Other Stories. And I'm also getting a mention on Foxy's Friday Freebies.

Anything surprise you this week?

  2. Well, snow would certainly be a surprise. Our son, daughter in law and their two little girls came to visit from Australia at the beginning of the year. They were so desperate to see snow, but we didn’t get as much as a single flake. In fact, the only snow they saw was of the fake variety on a trip to Euro Disney!

  4. The tropics forbids snow in Jamaica. Sew on Tarmara. Have a fun Halloween and book special.

  5. We did get some rain and cooler weather this past week in Los Angeles and supposedly there's more on the way. A welcome respite from the hot weather we had a few weeks ago.

  6. No! Snow is not something to celebrate. EVER! (Can you tell I'm not ready for winter yet?)

  7. It must be so beautiful! I often wish we lived where snow fell.

  8. Snow - already?? I now New York can get cold this time of year but I didn't realise that cold - we're still experiencing warmish temperatures for end of October here in the English Midlands. I think my surprise this week was meeting a very active and amazing 95 year old gentleman - you can read about it in my Celebrate post. Have a lovely weekend and I think I'll be getting a freebie copy of your book - the write up on Foxy's looked really good :) Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace

  9. The first snow is always so lovely. Happy Birthday to your Kitty! I bet she loved all her presents! I hope that you get lots of downloads for your book. (I'd get it, but Amazon won't download to 3rd world countries.) Have a wonderful weekend and Halloween!

    1. Sorry to hear Amazon's not global. That's a bummer.

  10. Enjoy the snow. I'm thinking the kids will be making snow men, right?

  11. Snow? Seriously? It was 80 degrees here. I'm ready for winter, but not sure about snow. We get an inch here and can't leave the house for two or three days.

  12. We also had snow on Thursday, in Upstate NY. I hate snow so much. The earliest we got it here, that I can remember, was the big snowstorm on 4 October 1987.

  13. So jealous of the snow.. it doesn't snow at all where I live.

  14. Snow! We're having a few days in the 80's again...so not normal for this time of year. So I'd love to see a few flakes. Happy birthday to your kitty!

I will do everything in my power to visit commenter's blogs unless I've been abducted by aliens or my children get sick. (If my children get abducted by aliens, I will be very busy, of course, catching up on my sleep.)
