Good Friday morning, everyone. Are you ready to celebrate something? Thanks to our host Lexa Cain and her co-hosts: L.G. Keltner and Tonya Drecker, this is the venue to do just that. So here we go, multiple choice-style:
1. While I took my daughter to her last elementary Sweetheart's dance last Friday, my husband stayed home with our older daughter and made this:
In case you are scratching your head, this is a sculpture of me in my kayak, which led me to ponder which of the following:
(a) my husband has waay too much time on his hands
(b) does my hair really look this bad?
(c) what happened to my legs?
(d) all of the above
2. We went to see our local high school's production of Les Miserables on Saturday. It was so stunning that...
Image: Javi Cebrian
(a) the audience couldn't even clap after some songs, because they were so moving
(b) both of my daughters proclaimed it was the best play they ever saw
(c) we'd lie, cheat, or steal to get a DVD of this production (but unfortunately such things are only offered to families with children in the thing, dang it!)
(d) all of the above
3. We went to our favorite restaurant, the Melting Pot, on Sunday to
Image: Lauren
(a) stuff ourselves on cheese fondue, possibly the most perfect food ever created
(b) time the wait staff on their ketchup-finding skills (they have to run down to the food court of the mall this restaurant is in to get it.)
(c) celebrate the 11 years since my husband was diagnosed with brain cancer (and he is okay!)
(d) all of the above
What a weekend! Did you celebrate Valentine's this week? Ever seen Les Miserables? Love cheese fondue?
(And if there's any doubt on the answer key, it's all ds. Like, duh.)
It sounds like you had an amazing week!! The best gift is your husbands celebration!!!!!!!!! Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that your husband is okay!!! That's a monumental good thing.
ReplyDeleteOur school did Les Miserables this year also. I didn't get to see it though, a flu hit the day I was planning to go.
Boo! Talk about bad timing.
DeleteSounds like good times! Also, hooray for your hubby still being here and okay.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, I had no idea about your husband. That he's OK is truly something to celebrate. Les Mis - glad you enjoyed even though it's sad. (I only have 2 sad loves: ET and Armageddon. I cry every time.) No, you hair couldn't possibly look that bad even in a tornado with pink paint spraying all over you. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting time was had by all. Yea Friday!
ReplyDeleteYou all had amazing time! And enjoyed each other's company too.
ReplyDeleteA most excellent post. Thanks for sharing all of this.
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely celebrate your husband's health. It's so precious. I celebrated Valentine's Day with my boyfriend, especially sweet since we had broken up last year.
ReplyDeleteI think you need to get your husband and daughter some better crafting supplies. LOL
ReplyDeleteEleven years cancer free - that is amazing.
How wonderful that the Les Mis production was so awesome. Maybe someone you know was in it and you can borrow the video. :)
ReplyDeleteFondue sounds so yummy. Glad you were able to have such a tasty meal.
The sculpture is definitely interesting!
11 years- wow! Something to be celebrated for sure. :)

Cheese Fondue!!! Sorry, but that sounds wonderful. The art project is adorable - husbands tend to find time for the most interesting things.
ReplyDeleteYes I was invited to a youth theatre performance that a friend's daughter was in of Les Miserables and totally blew me away with how talented they all were and I have seen the stage show too but as you say seeing it performed by youngsters is awesome!! I loved the kayak - how lovely that he made it with your daughter - quality Dad time :) Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace
ReplyDeleteYou're a fun lady with a fun family - though I'd hesitate to go kayaking with you.
ReplyDeleteBe well and have a good week, Tamara.
So happy for your husband's health, and as a mother, when my kids were little I'm pretty sure my hair looked like that at least half the time.
ReplyDeleteI feel the need to comment multiple choice-style :-)
ReplyDelete1. the answer is obviously (c) your legs are nice and warm under a blanket.
2. you don’t need to lie, cheat or steal just ask one of the parents to get you a copy – hence the answer is once again (c)
3. just must be (c) because it’s wonderful news about your husband.
There you c the answers weren’t duh after all! duh!
Have a lovely week.
Never saw the musical version, but saw a couple of older film dramas based on Les Miserables--one was so-so, but the other was excellent. Still need to see the film version of the musical.
ReplyDeleteHaven't had too much experience with fondue, but I remember when it was a craze back in the sixties. My mother had a fondue set, but it got only used once to my recollection. Fondue does sound good though--I like cheese.
