D is for . . .

doppelganger project - Lisa

Doppelgänger is German for double walker. It can mean ghostly double, as seen above. The word is also for two unrelated, living people sharing an uncanny resemblance, i.e. lookalikes. In my twenties, my sister found a picture of Tonya Harding and said I was her doppelgänger. Now that's scary. Do you resemble anyone famous (or infamous)?

Now for the "Name That Famous Product" game:

Oh, come on. That's easy!

Yesterday's famous product: Clorox

  1. Love that picture. I love spooky things. At first I thought your word was going to be daguerrotype. Those old images have a hollogram effect that seems to move when the viewer moves. But doppleganger is good too. And the product is Disney.

  2. Just found your blog as part of the A to Z challenge and I love the name or your blog! :)

I don't have a doppelgänger, but most people I meet swear they know me or have met me before.

  3. I don't know if I resemble anyone famous, but I'm always being told I look like someone that somebody knows. So I must have a dozen doppelgängers scattered around the country! That's a great picture. It looks like a seance from some old Victorian novel.

  4. The D is definitely Disney, but that's all I have. And I don't think I look like anybody famous - - although years ago people would tell me I looked like Lynda "Wonderwoman" Carter - - must have been the pointed steel bra I used to wear!

  7. Okay, this is wierd. I had five comments two seconds ago, but two just vanished. Maybe google has ghosts today. (Or did I somehow press a delete command?) What the hey, google?

  8. Disney!
I have a doppelganger that lives in the next town over. Not an exact match, but she has my long red hair and is very short.

  9. I worked with one of mine which was very unnerving. I hate seeing myself in photographs so having a living, breathing double walking around was not fun! Doppleganger is, however, one of my all time favourite words. :-)

  10. Spooky pic. No. I've never seen anyone that looks like me.

    It's got to be Disney.

I will do everything in my power to visit commenter's blogs unless I've been abducted by aliens or my children get sick. (If my children get abducted by aliens, I will be very busy, of course, catching up on my sleep.)
