E is for . . .

Continuing yesterday's spooky theme, I choose exorcism. Demons come out!
According to Wikipedia, there was “a 750% increase in the number of exorcisms performed between the early 1960s and the mid-1970s" because of media attention. I'm guessing the exceptional novel, The Exorcist (1971), and the film (1973) helped spread interest. Click here to read about the case that inspired William Peter Blatty.
Another famous exorcism involved a German Catholic woman named Anneliese Michel in 1976. Unfortunately she didn't survive, but her story inspired The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Eerie.
Today's "Name That Famous Product":

ReplyDeleteEddy's Ice Cream?
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I didn't see the Exorcist until 20 years after its release. It wasn't as effective since so many movies have since ripped off the idea.
Oh I hate evil beings, thank you for keeping this post short lol, I don't know if I would have survived! :)
